Leading Women’s Group Endorses Adrienne Bennett for Congress

March 5, 2020

BANGOR, ME – Value In Electing Women (VIEW PAC) announced its endorsement of Adrienne Bennett, Republican Candidate for Congress in Maine’s 2nd Congressional District. VIEW PAC is focused on increasing the number of women elected to federal office and supports credible, electable female candidates for office.
Left: Rep. Carol Miller (R-West Virginia), the only female freshman Republican elected to Congress in 2018. Right: Adrienne Bennett, Candidate for U.S. Congress (Maine-02).
“Adrienne Bennett is a proven fighter and she is the perfect fit to represent this district in Congress,” said Julie Conway, Executive Director of VIEW PAC. “Adrienne’s life story reflects the story of so many Mainers and she has demonstrated the grit and work ethic that is desperately needed in Washington. She’ll stand with the President to get things done for Maine and she’ll always put the people first.”

Accepting the endorsement, Adrienne Bennett thanked VIEW PAC for their support:

“I am honored to receive the support and endorsement of VIEW PAC. Our grassroots campaign for this seat, formerly held by Margaret Chase Smith and Olympia Snowe, is gaining momentum every day. I agree that we need more Republican women to step forward to run for office, and Mainers tell me every day that I am not just the best woman in the race, but I am the best candidate to beat Jared Golden and represent the Maine people. In Congress, I will stand up to Democrats who try to use gender to divide us and I will help President Trump enact his pro-Maine, America-first agenda.”

Adrienne Bennett formally received the endorsement on Tuesday, March 3 at a reception in Washington, D.C., headlined by Hon. Bruce Poliquin, the former member of Congress from Maine’s second district. Also in attendance were Rep. Carol Miller (R-West Virginia) the only female freshman Republican elected to Congress in 2018, who has also endorsed Adrienne Bennett’s candidacy, and Rep. Cathy McMorris Rogers (R-Washington), former member of the House Republican leadership team.

Raised by a single mother, trapped in the welfare system, Adrienne’s childhood home had no indoor plumbing, unfinished walls, and a wood stove as the only source of heat. Determined that her past would not define her future, Adrienne put herself through college before beginning a career at WABI Channel 5 in Bangor, a CBS affiliate where she rose through the ranks to become Central Maine Bureau Chief until she was recruited to serve as press secretary to Governor Paul R. LePage, a role she held for 7 years. Visit to learn more about Adrienne and her campaign to restore true representation for Maine’s Second District in Congress.
